Former Student Declares Eligibility for NBA Draft

ORLANDO - As of April 2021, alumnus Isaiah Adams declared his eligibility for the NBA draft. He later withdrew but maintained his eligibility to continue attending the University of Central Florida. During his freshman year, he earned a spot on the AAC All-Freshman Team and Freshman of the Week three times. He averaged 9.9 points, second among all AAC Freshman, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. The 6’6 sophomore has been a problem on the court since he attended school here.  

Adams led Paxon to back-to-back appearances in the state semi-finals during his junior and senior years. Despite many setbacks as an underclassman with injuries, his final years were when he began to play regularly. He averaged 19.6 points, 10.8 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game as a junior and 23.7 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.9 blocked shots, and 2.2 assists per game as a senior. He also won the accolades of Florida Class 4A Player of the Year both years. All four of the years, he additionally earned All-Gateway Conference. Lastly, he got the title of Florida Dairy Farmers Mr. Basketball and 4 stars from ESPN recruiting.  

His sophomore season at UCF began Nov. 10 against Robert Morris in Orlando. The future is looking bright for the young star as he continues his career in basketball.
